Three purple-spotted aliens with blowing green eyes, weird looking feet and two sharp teeth hanging out of their mouths.

The toys covered the floor. So many toys, one child couldn’t possibly play with all of them in a span of six months. Plush toys. Wooden toys. Toy dolls. Costumes. Beach balls. A compact kitchen, which included a wall oven and a countertop microwave.

Sally sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by her countless toys.

Right on schedule, her mother opened her bedroom door, and was about to say, ‘hurry up and get dressed,’ when she saw each and every toy spread out on the floor.

“Sally Henrietta Bottomsby,” said her mother, hands on her hips. “Whatever happened here?”

The Kweiseldorfs came back,” Sally answered.

Sally’s mother clapped her hands together five times. “Don’t start with that again. You made this mess. You have to clean it up.”

Sally stood up, mimicking her mother by putting her hands on her hips. “It’s not my fault. They don’t listen to anything I say.”

“Well, I can relate to that,” her mother stated. “They’re not real. Stop blaming something that doesn’t exist. The Kweiseldorfs? Really? How did you come up with that?”

“They are real!” Sally shouted, stomping her feet.

“That’s enough young lady,” her mother warned. “Get dressed and come down to the kitchen. You have to clean this up later. No time for that, right now.”

“But…. that means they’ll break some of my toys,” Sally whined.

“I don’t want to hear another word about this,” her mother said, as she left the room.

Sally sat back down on the floor, looking around at the mayhem surrounding her. “Where are you hiding?” she asked. “I know you’re here somewhere.”

One of her closet doors swung open. Three sets of glowing green eyes looked back at Sally.

“You heard what my mom said,” Sally whispered. “Clean up this mess, or you can’t play with my toys ever again and I won’t bring you any more chocolate ice cream.”
